Ms. Carolyn Veale

Carolyn Veale is the Assistant Director for the University Honors Program at NC State. She obtained a B.A. in Political Science and a B.A. in Public Relations from NC State University and a M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration from NC State University. Dr. Katy Leonard

Dr. Katy Leonard

Dr. Katy Leonard  is the Director of the Honors Village at NC State. She obtained a B.M. in Music Performance (Flute) from Birmingham-Southern College, an M.A. in Ethnomusicology from the University of Limerick, and a Ph.D. in Music (Ethnomusicology) from Brown University. Her research interests include bluegrass music, hip hop culture, virtual community, and music and political movements. Mr. Dwayne Barnes

Dwayne Barnes, University Program Associate, is a graduate of Atlantic Christian College with a B.S. in Communications with a focus in news/television reporting. He is a former Pride of the Wolfpack recipient, and has successfully completed the following campus programs: Pathways Leadership Development Program, Equal Opportunity Institute and the University Accounting Certification Series. Most recently he received a 2015 Award of Excellence from DASA. He has served the university over 17 years,11 of which were served with the University Honors Program. Mrs. Marquette Russell

Marquette Russell is an Administrative Support Associate for the University Honors Program (UHP) at NC State University. A native of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, she received her BA degree in Music/Vocal Performance from Saint Augustine’s College. Marquette obtained her MBA in Management from Strayer University in 2011. Along with her duties of being a wife and mother of 4 loving boys, Marquette enjoys singing, teaching, volunteering, and spending time with family. She started in the UHP in 2006 and has achieved several accomplishments including the following: served on the NC State Staff Senate; University Accounting Certification Series; HR Academy; graduate of the Advisor Development Institute and Equal Opportunity Institute.
