Research Speed Dating
Now entering its fourth year, NC State Undergraduate Research Speed Dating is designed to offer undergraduate students a low-stress method of gaining exposure to the diversity of research taking place on NC State’s campus, as well as a method of locating potential future research opportunities. For faculty, it offers the opportunity to connect with a large number of high-achieving and highly motivated undergraduates from across all the colleges at NC State in a short amount of time. It is intended primarily as a way to introduce students to how knowledge is generated in multiple fields and the role of the student researcher in those fields. At the event, students are strongly encouraged to meet with professors outside their major to learn new research methodologies. Each “speed date” lasts for approximately 15 minutes with 5 minutes allotted for travel time. Light refreshments are served.
Research Speed Dating takes place at the start of each Spring semester. Information will be posted in advance of this time.
