Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor, University Honors and Scholars Program students who receive need-based Federal financial aid may also be eligible for funding (up to $5,000.00) for NC State Study Abroad programs, UHP Explorations (Cultural/Outdoor/Career Connections) Programs, undergraduate research, and other high impact opportunities! This donor is especially interested in supporting travel and study abroad experiences for students who may be less able to do so due to financial barriers. If you are unsure whether an opportunity qualifies for funding, please reach out to your UHP Program Advisor to ask!
Students do not have to have received approval of their study abroad program yet to apply for funding through the UHP. We will confirm approved trip status at a later date.
In addition, the University Honors Program is happy to provide up to $750.00 in funding for a limited number of UHP students, regardless of their financial need, who would like to have the costs of their independent research, creative scholarly project, and/or other professional development opportunities covered (regardless of financial need). If you are working on a Capstone project or undergraduate research project for which your faculty mentor cannot provide funding, or if you wish to travel to present your work at a professional conference or organization, please use the grant application link provided below to request to be considered for funding! Other applications of this funding include (but are not limited to): funding for an un-paid or under-paid internship opportunity, money to complete a professional development training or certificate, etc.
This experiential funding application will remain active and open year-round, so please apply whenever you need to be considered for funding!
If you are applying for funding for multiple, separate high-impact experiences at the same time, please complete this form separately for each unique experience.
